I am focused on bringing out what is on the inside of a person and incorporating their gifts and talents into my lesson plans. I will explore ways to tap into the uniqueness of the individual and take their learning from the head to the heart. Each day I will strive to bring a new energy to education and bring out the best in all of my students. In essence "inner"-gize education!

Blog Away
Good morning! I have been brainstorming some great ideas on how to use a blog in the classroom. Days of the week blogging is one creative way to open each day with your students. A short and simple blog can be a fun way to start or end a language arts class. Each day the student will have a fun prompt to stem off of such as "Finally Friday" or "Marvelous Monday". The student uses the prompt to begin creating a short, fun piece, fiction or nonfiction. It can be a poem, short story, or an on going story from day to day. The only requirement is to be creative and practice writing skills. I believe this would build confidence and open a students imagination.

That is a good idea. I never thought to create a fun blog for my students to make the blog fun. Good idea!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like it could be a really good way to start off class (like a warm-up) or encourage reflection at the end of class/at home. It would also promote positive thinking, and that could make them happier in general!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good way for students to be energized in the morning by having them to write a blog. Fun way of learning.
ReplyDeleteI think that having your students create a fun blog on Monday is a good idea because everyone hates Mondays and this could be a great way to lighten the mood.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of doing a daily blog! I think it would be so cool to see how creative the students can make their story. I think that it would make coming to class fun for all of the students.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good idea because it will be fun for students to kind of have free for all blogging days. Sometimes I think that educators can get busy creating blogging assignments that are so structured and detailed that the students feel they lose their freedom in it.
ReplyDeleteI really like this idea! At my school, we did something similar but with pencil and paper. We made it like our journal everyday. It makes if fun and allows the student to do something they may not be familiar with.
ReplyDeleteGood idea! Having a new prompt every day will really help a writer become more creative.
ReplyDeleteI love the fact you want them to explore their own minds for the creativity. I might use this.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea to have a daily prompt for them, especially such positive ones like that. I like how it promotes creative thinking and lets them explore what kind of writing your students would like to do and also allows them to express themselves freely.
ReplyDeleteImagination is great to incorporate into school! This gives students a break from all that standardized testing prep, that can be very consuming the entire year.
ReplyDeleteI like the creativity aspect. I think a neat idea would be a class blog where the students would do a short paragraph blog each that when combined would form a story.
ReplyDeleteI like that you would give students options on ways to express themselves through blogging. Good idea!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your question! Yes I would encourage students to comment on one anothers blog. I would assess their work on participation and grammar. This would be an activity to inspire creative thinking and writing. I think it would help with standard testing when students have to write essays. I remember in my English comp classes my professor had the hardest time to get dual credit highschool students to simply write creatively off of a prompt. They could not do it! We have to give kids the opportunity to just let creativity flow or they will never be the ones coming up with the incredible proposals at their work and so forth.
